"Steve McMichael is a visionary and as such he has the ability to help New Haven grow and become 'The Place' to live, work and raise a family, Steve will make an excellent City Councilman”

Mayor Terry McDonald

New Haven 5th District City Council

Fellow New Haven 5th District Residents,

I feel that Steve McMichael has made the commitment to run for elected office seeking to serve the residents as a City Council Representative for the 5th District in New Haven. I believe that Steve has the vision of progress, leadership ability, and integrity that this position requires. In order for New Haven to continue to grow; we need City Council representatives to be leaders – leaders of progress; leaders who see challenges as opportunities, leaders who realize that cities need to grow or they simply die a long, slow, and painful death. Steve is just the kind of leader we need!

New Haven City Council election 2011

Steve McMichael’s enthusiasm and affection for New Haven and his ideas for enhancing a vibrant, well-educated, healthy, safe, beautiful community are such a part of his life that they are evident in every conversation with him, demonstrated long before he became a candidate to represent the citizens of New Haven in the City Council’s 5th District. As the owner of a small real estate business, Steve knows the challenges of growing a business; he sees the 5th District as a critical gateway to New Haven, poised for growth and in need of leadership to help guide sustainable development

NH District 5

New Haven City Council 5 th District Candidate Steve McMichael is the owner of a Real Estate business in New Haven . He sees many of the infrastructure problems first hand, more so than an average citizen does. He wants to address these problems with the Mayor and the problems created by previous administrations not doing their job in keeping our city’s sewers, streets, etc. in good repair. He also sees economic growth as an issue of high priority on the City’s agenda. With the completion of the Maplecrest Rd extension, Steve can put his real estate experience and contacts to good use by opening doors to capitalize on the new link to Interstate 469. His knowledge of resources for businesses will be a great help in bringing new types of companies to open in New Haven . He is also a very creative problem solver. His ideas are unique, innovative and practical and would be a refreshing change for the 5th District City Council Seat. Please vote on November 8th and please vote for Steve McMichael for 5th District Councilman for New Haven .

5th District Support

As a resident of New Haven, and retired teacher from New Haven High School I have seen many improvements in New Haven over the years. Electing Steve McMichael from the 5th District for City Council would be a positive change for more effective leadership.

New Haven politics is seldom about party, but more on the quality, experiences and effectiveness of the candidates. I have spoken with many residents of the 5th District, and most want better representation on Council and improved communication with their councilman.

As an educator, I know the importance of representatives being well educated on community issues. Steve McMichael has been involved, asked tough questions, done the research and sought the right answers. Steve has served the Greater New Haven community on various commissions, committees and is a neighborhood leader. He possesses the ability to work with all groups of the community to enact common sense change. I have worked with him many times he understands how to work constructively and together with others to get things done. He sees challenges as opportunities and knows that better days for New Haven are ahead.

Steve McMichael will represent the needs of the 5th District and all of New Haven as a leader with a Voice and Vision for progress in New Haven.
